Sengun feels like one of the most misunderstood and underrated players in the NBA, even by some of the #Rockets fanbase. I think Vlade Divac and Luis Scola are also decent comparisons for components of his game. He keeps growing and getting stronger, there are few big men with his level of footwork at his age and it really isn’t fair to him to make those comps like everyone does. He is great and keeps working.

Hordford and Randolph acomps I've heard. But I do think the ceiling is higher than all four of those players thus Gasol. I think people think his ceiling is lower and they are wrong. right now he's in top 20 in half catch all metrics and the top ten in the other half. Again he just turned 22.

Yep. I just mean, there isn’t one comp for this guy. He has an ability and skill set that takes the good parts of a lot of these highly talented players in the league and historically.

There is only one Sengun. I can see the Gasol comparison too. But even there, he is unique.

I mean it’s lot of people Game Theory, Dunc’d On, Group Chat, BS Pod. I think portions of the fan base is just meme of the guy holding hands with Sengun while looking at whatever young Rocket is having a great month hoping they are actually our number one.

It feels like I should get to argue Sengun against Mobley or Cade but instead the media thinks he's lower than role players and "superstars" that don't help winning. I don't want it to but honestly just pisses me off. LaMelo Ball will never be the best player on team whose record is 32-14. Never.

He's such an interesting player. He surprisingly has one of the best DRtg on the team, and he's a player archetype that usually needs to be able to shoot 3's, although he can't. It feels inevitable that he won't be the best player on the team very soon (Thompson is coming) - curious how he evolves.

Amen is worst shooter and he's wing. He also can't run an offense. I love Amen but we don't have ton proof vacuum without Fred or Sengun that he would be very effective on that end. So it's not for gone conclusion.

I think issue here is people think Alpi is archtype he is not. Sabonis/Jokic are just bad comps.

Just like right now there is no way Alpi could shoot like Sabonis or Jokic. Their is just also no way that those 2 players would be good as he is on defense and he's 22.

I think people are just underatting his defense. I really do. It's not just DRtg. It's ever metric on that end EPM, BPM, LeBron etc. It's real. The Comps are more Pau Gasol then they are Jokic or Sabonis. Not saying he's that level yet but that is the path.

The Gasol comparison is excellent. And it's interesting how his weaknesses really don't seem to be exploited.... That is a credit to him and the coaching. There probably isn't a team I'm excited to watch in the playoffs more than HOU - they really know how to play to their strengths.
