Yesss this. The other day I explained to my dad that the lack of constitutional ability to take away citizenship doesn’t matter if Trump’s state department can cancel your passport, if exec branch can deny you all the STUFF that goes with citizenship.

One of the outcomes of growing up very poor (with a side of intense rural libertarianism) was seeing that hostile side very early on. I’ve never forgotten and am regularly baffled by how not suspicious most people I know are of government.
