Our quarterhorse used to do this to one of the barn cats. They were pals, and the cat would occasionally get on the horse's back. Sadly, both are no longer with us.

My dog adored donkeys. And apparently also wild deer who in return adored her.
Went to buy a beer and when I came back she was just laid there where I left her with a mallard snuggled up against her.

God I miss her so much.
