It struck me one time in my church during a bible study, when the pastor said something about women wearing head coverings and only men commented, that one way women deal with things with men in "authority" is with silence - and then doing what they want to do.

It was enlightening.

It's where the whole stereotype of "feminine wiles" comes from. If your opinions and desires are dismissed out of hand, it's just going to teach you how to subtly trick (or manipulate) people to get the outcome you want.

I'm not sure that's the same thing as what I said. There's no manipulation (wiles) involved. It was ignoring what's said and doing what they wanted to do.

Oh no, I was just adding another example of why this kind of authorative oppression harms both sides. It forces one side to resort to deception, which the other side resents and distrusts them for.
I don't think anyone bears blame for the ways they find to gain autonomy under oppression.

Yes, and I can see this when ignoring isn't possible.

If you had someone who would harm you in some way for not going along, then, yes, I could see how you'd use whatever tools you could. Or decide what's important enough to make a stand or break away.
