Everything was great imo! The mechanics are easily the best and most polished in the series, I love the worlds they chose, etc. The only part I think is a legitimate negative for me is that it has 0 final fantasy characters.
All the people immediately dumping on it when it came out were just echoing talking points they'd heard from YouTubers who were just mad the specific things they wanted didn't happen.
I also saw a lot of people acting like there was nothing between KH2 and KH3 or that the games between 2 and 3 were spinoffs and it's like, no those were just as important as the rest just because you think Handheld games are beneath you doesn't mean you can just skip them.
Also read a review from a Gaming site where the reviewer was literally like "I have never played a single one of these games. This game is bad because I don't understand what's going on"
the biggest problems KH3 had was that it took so long from it's initial announcement that everyone's expectations & hype was rising above what was actually planned. and DIsney's interferance with the world's stories. we could have had a boss fight with SkΓΆll AND Hati as Elsa's heartless & nobody!!!
True but at least they push the plot forward, Kairi is pushed around by the plot like some raggedy doll, she be like "oh I guess I'm dying now, by Sora....oh I'm back, bye Sora"
Disagree. The entire game felt like a tutorial and it tripped over itself to hand hold you through mechanics it explained several hours in the past at all times. Story was okay but over all it just had few memorable moments and a lot of the world design felt lacking compared to the other games imo.
Everything you said could apply to pretty much all three main kh games tbh. I wouldn't say KH III's worlds were the peak of the series, but they were consistently much better than the wild Russian roulette that were the worlds in I and II
So like, I see people complaining about Arendell which is fine because it wasn't setting the world on fire, but as KH fans there's no way anyone can pretend it is isn't LEAGUES better than something like Wonderland, the convoluted mess that is Deep Jungle, etc.
I'll replay it I guess. It didn't leave me wanting more and I still play 1,2, and BBS, AND 358/2 days every few months. The world design in III felt almost on rails with little emphasis on exploring or developing the world story IMO. SanFran and the arcade are the two examples that I remember.
I like it. I'm a big fan. They built upon the story. They made some of the most fun combat and they really brought the characters to life. I would never go as far as to say the writing in ff7 is genius. It's good. It's fun. But Shakespeare it is not. It just gives good cyber/fantasy novella.
I havent gotten to it yet but every game in the series will probably feel like a breath of fresh air after i beat the pile of shit that is re chain of memories
I was just mad we had amazing disney picks and I dont think they were really successful for the most part...Arendelle particularly was heartbreaking with the expectations I had for it
Thereβs no actually it was just good and the DLC made it better, People kept getting caught up in what they wanted it to be but in reality itβs a great game sure the Disney worlds are like watching a Naruto or Bleach Filler episode but main story is good and Gameplay is Goated
By the time it released I was too old to appreciate it the same way I did the first Kingdom Hearts⦠tried picking it up again a few years ago. It was a no go.
Perhaps! But it coming 40 years after 2, with 600 offshoot games between (of varying quality) set it firmly in this "I'm probably not playing this" zone.
The straight movie retellings were weak but a good bunch of the original stuff was fire. The keyblades were more unique than ever. The soundtrack has so many bangers... and let's not forget. Donald, canonical strongest black mage in Final Fantasy.
My high expectations were based on the self contained narrative perfection of kh1, so, not unreasonable. Kh2 wasa slightly less polished story with more polished combat, and somehow kh3's writing was a chaotic mess of unsatisfying nonsense. Imo.
Bestie... it's the first time in a long time you have just fingerblasted the internet with your cursed content as if trying to deal psychic damage to our collective unconscious.

Iβm still the problem Iβm sure.
