I’m watching my father die of Alzheimer’s. It’s horrific. The one hope I had was that research would someday provide a cure for me and my kids should we also need it. The GOP is killing that hope along with so many others.

I'm sorry for your loss. My father had Lewy Body Dementia. It was cruel! I painfully watched my Dad slip away! Happy when he finally left his pain. Oh how I wish there was a cure for these awful diseases.

I'm sorry. My sister and I took care of our mom who had Alzheimer's for 3 years after my dad died, it was excruciating.She was well into the middle stage when he passed.She passed in May of last year. Peace to your family as you go through journey.

Same, my mom died from it 4 years ago. I was hopeful we'd at least have better treatments soon, but between this and the amyloid fraud from a couple years back, it seems like we're going to be stuck for a long time

My grandmother developed Alzheimer's. Survived 10 years in memory care. My mother was terrified she would suffer the same fate. Mom started showing signs at the same age as her mother. She lasted 6 months in memory care and died during the COVID lockdown. The countdown has started. Hard to ignore.

Its all so stupid. The budget process is where these expenditures are decided. If they dont want certain programs they can propose a budget leaving them out.
