yes. he’s so eager to comfort him but he only grabs his shoulder. but yet for these two that alone is like a fulsome embrace. it’s just a beautifully depicted and insightful moment about what it’s like to have a strained relationship with a close family member.

the whole sequence in the loft with the sex workers is fucking STUNNING. you’d think it was made by people who had immersed themselves in gender studies and examinations of toxic masculinity. but it definitely wasn’t. a perfect testament to how ppl’s art can transcend their own self-knowledge.
