So I had to google mantis shrimp and found the mantis shrimp is known as "urinating shrimp" (Chinese: 瀨尿蝦) because of their tendency to shoot a jet of water when picked up and I can’t look at Octonauts the same way ever again… 😵‍💫

My 2 loved the Octonauts.

They're now 14 and 11 and have very little memory of it.

I, on the other hand, sneak a nostalgic episode from time to time. So much cool stuff and it takes me straight back to having their head on my shoulder as we watched together.

I run a daycare! We watch 1 animated film at nap time, the rest it’s straight up documentaries. Hearing then talk about nature is AMAZING!!! I kinda miss Octonauts!!!

I watched a friend's daughter watching Octonauts, and I was shocked at how much it respected kids. It had complex facts and situations, it had danger and scares, it showed predators as a threat but respected them as part of the ecosystem. It's a rare kids' show that assumed that kids would GET IT.
