I adore how prevalent Pratchett is on this platform. Shows me I've followed the right people!

I suppose it would have been a bad lesson for the kiddies to conclude with "Unless you're rich, and well connected, then you can get away with basically anything." Gotta save some lessons for the main series.

Ah, but she forgot to mention manifesting! Surely that must be more powerful than just actually getting on with stuff?

The Sam Vines economic boot theory is one of the best I've ever seen.
The ending(s) of Unseen Academicals made me tear up often. The ending of The Last Hero made me snot-cry.
I still miss him.
To heck with all the rest. "Hogfather" is THE Christmas movie. I'll be taking no questions at this time.

I watch Hogfather every year. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get my spouse or my kids to ever watch it with me.

It's the only movie from the series so far.
I need to see "The Colour of Magic".

We need a gif to symbolize the moment of catching yet another Pratchett pun years and years after first having seen it.
“You complete and utterly magnificent bastard” doesn’t come up with much, but it should.

this quote sums up so much of what I love about Pratchett
he took fantastical stories and infused them with no nonsense humanity rather than empty platitudes
and he made it funny while he did so

I seriously believe Pratchett was one of the finest social and political commentators of the 20th century, no contest.

Why limit it to the 20th century? 😀

Not familiar enough before then to render an opinion, but I'm open to it.

And sad, and romantic and, above all, readable over and over and over again.
