Might be she's in "what have we got to lose?" mode; she is emphatic about the immediacy of the crisis now and I can believe completely that she could just be choosing what seem like the best options now heedless of longer term consequences or strategy. No sense in being rich in the graveyard.

I trust that AoC knows better than I do how she can best make an impact and I'm ready to back her play regardless. But there is no hard rule against a former president running for Congress and I can see AoC successfully breaking that norm.
