As a person living in Albuquerque, I am so happy to see that he'll be in New Mexico this time around. And my husband and I are visiting our in-laws, conveniently when he's there, so we'll be seeing him then, too.
Wow! That's a fact I knew as a teenager but misplaced in the intervening decades.
After some googling: Allegedly, Weird Al will also have a cameo in the Liam Neeson-led "Naked Gun" reboot out later this year! I hope so, otherwise what are they even doing 🤣
I was such a big fan of the originals (minus some of the anti-trans humor that did not age well), that I was initially upset when I heard that Liam Neeson was leading a reboot. Watching the trailer, though, did make me more interested. Knowing that Al will be back clinches my movie ticket!
Right on! I had a similar response when 1st hearing about the rebook, but Neeson in the lead made me smile: he's known for drama/action but can deliver comedic lines with a deadpan face very well.
I expect the reboot will be enjoyable, but also include a lot of fan service which can be...ugh.
Yeah, I hope that the reboot is able to be its' own thing and build on what made the original great, rather than simply gesturing towards it and waggling its' eyebrows
I understand, but the claim of “no role models” is so wild to me because most of the public figures are men. I’m female and I can list off several inspiring men, why can’t they?
OPINION:
Honestly, I think the “crisis for young white men” is completely fabricated. The only crisis they are facing is that with available high-quality sex toys, “Have penis, will travel” no longer works as a pitch because the vibrator can say the same thing - and it requires far less maintenance.
The “crisis” is that women have standards and “emotionally abusive houseboy” isn't the career field they are looking in for partners. They are just looking for an excuse to behave badly toward women without any recognition of a woman's internal life that is not about them and where men are quite
As is common in cis-het white AMAB who call themselves Christian, they feel entitled to have any woman they want, without having to meet her standards & be worth her time.
It's a result of the toxic masculinity that makes getting laid more important than everything,
and has boys scoring themselves compared to other boys on the basis of how much pussy they get rather than on a meaningful basis that actually requires them to work for it.
As a protest sign I saw put it:
“Men of quality don't fear equality.”

That’s a very good benchmark for a role model, fame or not.
