Carol Doherty who passed away yesterday was a state rep who represented a swing district in MA state house (she flipped it to blue in 2020) and she never voted on harmful issues that Republicans and few conservative Democrats voted for. That was an example of a truly remarkable state rep she was.

It's awkward. It's dangerous right now, but in normal times it's an understandable impulse because Dems are the big tent party, and a big tent that wants progress rather than stagnation and deregulation.

Makes it easy to support bad policy that looks like reasonable compromise.

I agree that Dems shouldn't play ball with anything that Trump supports, but I remember when Scott Brown was allowed to vote strategically with Dems when it wouldn't affect anything in the hopes that he would appear moderate

Dems should abstain from voting and let the current regime pass all their cuts so people can see who they really are. People won’t listen to media for a truth they refuse to believe but they will understand when it affects them directly.
