Aside from the moral outrage what a stupid business move. Will anyone want to subscribe to this? If they want semi honest free market stuff they can go to WSJ

I hate to say it, but destroying the WaPo supports and furthers Bezos’s broader empire and ambitions the same way that destroying Twitter actually benefited Musk. It increases the overall bottom line and their personal power. Our narrow criticism misses the big-picture point.
Bezos is so rich that to him it doesn't matter if the paper fails. It matters to the journalists and writers who work there, and the public who used to rely on this paper for news. #taxtherich
The free-market fundamentalist vision Bezos describes for WaPo really doesn't differ much from the vision for Gaza Trump portrays in his goofball Ai cartoon.
Each conjures up a magical world in which serving the pleasure of the wealthy is a panacea for one and all.
I mean they lost 250,000 subscribers last year and they won’t ever get back that many. It’s not going to be a profitable business unless there are massive cuts.
I feel in the same way Musk bought and destroyed Twitter to advantage Trump and earn himself a massive tax cut and an assist with his govt businesses Bezos is doing the same. #BendingTheKneeForBigBucks
Trump’s politicized DOJ will protect Bezo’s monopoly power with Amazon too.
I already cancelled after WaPo didn’t endorse Harris. Sad I can’t do it again. Another example of a man who is successful in one field who thinks he is a genius at everything.
This is how the discourse well get even further captured. Folks will read the WSJ, WaPo and some NYT and think they are getting "a wide range of diverse viewpoints" --- and instead it will be 51 flavors of MAGA-ism
Bezos is a self made guy who wouldn’t be worth a penny if he had to build a road for his trucks to drive on. That was us. The fact that Amazon uses our infrastructure -our “Commons” without paying any federal taxes to help keep that infrastructure in good shape is welfare.
Make the rich pay fairly.
I agree - I am noticing more and more that much of the non-financial reporting is becoming watered down and Trump is given passes that should not be given.
Billionaires don't buy up a country's information outlets to make money. They buy them up so they can do their part in the project to dismantle democracy.

The robber barons are playing chess, not checkers. Short-term losses fuel end-game victories.

Is the Post’s new slogan “Helping Murder Democracy in Broad Daylight?”
He consistently demonstrates that he cares not a whit about journalism, integrity or democracy.

After EndorsementGate I canceled without hesitation.
Musk even said so out loud the other day.
I’m happy to remain poor, keeping my dignity.
