Yoshifumi Kondō was groomed to be the main director for Studio Ghibli after Miyazaki retired after Mononoke Hime. Unfortunately he passed away shortly after Whisper of the Heart came out so Miyazaki unretired himself. So would have loved to have seen more Kondo directed films. Loved Whisper!!!

Soooo wish Hedeiki Anno would direct a streaming season of Nausicaa more closely following the manga. Couple run for two seasons of 7 episodes. He animated the God Warrior scenes in the original film. He’s busy now though doing a new Gundam.
