I will forever love, appreciate & admire Yoko Ono for putting up a billboard in Times Square after 9/11 saying "Imagine all the people living life in peace." It gave me hope in the darkness of that time, a positive vision of "tomorrow" to cling to on the days I didn't want to get up in the morning.
And also I HATE the way people talk about Yoko. She came from real money and never needed to do a goddamn thing but she went out there and tried to be an artist.
“All that, ‘I used to be cruel to my woman,I beat her and kept her apart from the things that she loved,’ was me,” he told Playboy in 1980.“I used to be cruel to my woman, and psychically, any woman. I was a hitter! I couldn’t express myself and I hit.I fought men and hit women.” -JL in Rolling Stone
You do realize that this song is a perfect embodiment of the communist manifest, right? It's an utopia, communism couldn't work. And that's mainly because of human nature. Humans are naturally greedy and selfish, living in this world would be a nightmare for most people. The sad truth of humanity.
I will never forget the day he was shot. Having been a kid when the JFK and RFK were assasinated, MLK, and others…it was like, “Oh, no. Not another one.” Gut-wrenching.
One of the most beautiful pieces of poetry and music ever written. I’ve always been a dreamer. And I always imagine that the world could live as one. Sigh.
What I love about this song is that it was a collaboration between John and Oko. She wrote most of the lyrics over years. John put them together into a masterpiece.
The only thing I can do is imagine that scenario. He wasn't wrong. I just don't see that ever happening. The closet we got to that was Covid, and even that got ruined by our dipshitiot in common. So, imagine, I will.
Almost two generations were robbed of the genius i this man’s mind and his passive activism that he expressed through some of the best music ever recorded RIP John 😇
One of best ever written. Could of been writing by Jesus, Buddah, Mohammed Rumi Hafiz Whitman Socrates they would all approve. This is the way to world peace.
This was the gospel then and still
Is today. I really wish the country could go back to the late 60s where there were a lot of people that could see the fakeness of these manmade religions , white racism and the greed of the rich. We came close to ending it but we failed . We need to try again🤔🦅
For those that never heard it look up a song called “ in the games people play” by Joe South. Then look around and you will se it’s where we are at today. 😒

In this case, "it" didn't.
Worked at a DV shelter for years. Based on his behavior throughout his life, I don't think he was one of the ~3% who do not (reportedly) reoffend.
But I'm sure that night was very meaningful for him
That particular line is especially offensive coming from a man who revelled in material possessions.

Well, I tell them there is no problem, only solutions.
Well they shake their heads, and they look at me as if I've lost my mind.
I told them there is no hurry, I'm just sitting here doing time.
The info online has always been vague about it, though. This is the best source I could find
