"The data is safe.
Services are offline as we examine and strengthen them. Sorry, but needed. @internetarchive staff is working hard.
Estimated Timeline: days, not weeks.
Thank you for the offers of pizza (we are set)."

Glad to hear you’re doing ok
Not surprised, but very irritated
The Wikipedia team is trying to stay ahead of it but things may be slipping through
, I.R. is a great research tool, thank you
God speed.... I love the archive.... come back soon!
Every Archive user could in effect be a mini local library, donating a bit of storage and bandwidth to the internet.
Every piece of media deserves some type of library.
Not having a central archive is a WEIRD feeling...
And those hackers are Israelis, and that makes it worse.
Remember what happened to the jackass that messed with FurAffinity? They should face the same fate.
فهناك العديد من مكتبات القرآن الكريم https://surahquran.com التي تم رفعها عليه
It was a publicity stunt by clowns "hacktivists".
Good news: There weren't passwords. It was the bcrypt hashes of passwords.
It's still time to make sure whatever password you used on IA isn't used anywhere else. But you shouldn't reuse passwords anyways.

I think this is the right time to put a fund raiser on your page:
libraries have costs / expenses and you should made this clear now on the page by publishing your balance sheet so users find out what they get and what it costs you so they can participate. That's support.
