Ofwat is making us pay for decades of criminal behaviour by water companies.
Time to scrap both of them and give the public a real say over the future of our water.

See how corrupt our country has now become!!!
We all need it. Humans, Flora & Fauna, but we treat it either like an abundance, or a dumpster or a commodity to blackmail/ extort people with. A power tool.
Wars are fought over it. Look at the Middle East.
Every living thing on this planet has a right to fresh water.
We should all stop paying our bills until they’re all renationalised.
Mugged daily for essential utilities. Bonkers.
For Christmas can we have ALL water back in public ownership. We're fed up of our money paying for bonuses and dividends whilst therethere's little investment to benefit us as customers and continued pollution of our waterways.
Yours
Concerned customers.
Well that isn't £31 a year, it's £170 a year (based on average household annual of £473). How did they get to £31?
The public don't need a say in that, we just want clean water to arrive, and dirty water to go away please.
It's a simple question.
When progress is measured (5yrs) we will find “nothing of any consequence has been improved” and investors-yet again-walk directly to the bank with our money🤷♀️😟
Let's concentrate on taxing wealth more than work though - which is what the UK Greens had in their 2024 manifesto: wealth taxes, increase in capital gains.
Failing that, can OfWat increase bills by around 36% please? Gorra dash, flight to catch.
When they can't meet their obligations to keep up repairs and not pump sewage into our water supply because they gave all their cash away to shareholders then let them go bankrupt and take back control.
Obviously that's more important than providing a service that doesn't fleece customers or pollute rivers... 🙄
What are the dividends this year?
Purely profit over people and service delivery.
Ironically, Europe originally cleaned up UK waters before.
They have forfeited any right to OUR water.
They in fact owe US compensation!
AND they should serve time!
💠higher fuel bills
💠higher water bills
💠BBC still full of Tories
💠private equity companies still free to profiteer...
Not impressed
At this point, I'm only interested in reducing every penny I give them, even if that means extreme solutions (atmospheric water generator, a utility-independent retirement, etc.)
I'd rather give £100 to anyone else than £1 to Thames Water.
It's much to cosy a relationship and completely UNFIT for purpose.
Nationalise this essential service NOW!
Can't remember them saying how it would make shareholders & CEOs very rich and fuck the customer though? Or how OFWAT would stand by and do nothing?
The old Ofgas had as its primary purpose the neutering of British Gas, but long term was that a benefit?
I've signed up.
Water is a necessity, not a luxury so no increases in people's bills.
Fine them for sewage dumps and losing 600 million litres of clean water a day in leaks.
It shouldn't take long to bankrupt them, give them £1 for it and tell them to fuck off.
Nationalise.
Public transport, postal service, steel industry, shipbuilding Industry etc etc
Should be brought back under public ownership.
Labour will do fuck all and are likely to sell off more of the NHS to the private sector.
Starmers red Tories.
Not my government
Shocking.
Sadly, other regulators possibly worse?
Either the tax payer pays up front (through borrowing), and it is paid back through higher bills over many years… or private companies find it (normally through borrowing) and we pay through higher bills over many years.
If it is private companies it doesn’t count as the government’s debt.
To sort out the current issues billions of pounds is needed now. I am not sure the Treasury is going to fund this ahead of the NHS etc.

Either way I'd say water infrastructure should be near the top of the queue for steal ect..
Anyway the current budget is already too low, that's why our growth is so sluggish.
Billions of ‘free’ lateral flow test kits that anyone could have over the years of Covid.
No, you intentionally didn't pay and you put shareholders before the entire population of the UK. This isn't how profit works
Is that okay now? You steal all the money and then say our bad and everything just carries on
