The way they accelerate to the entrance, carefully navigate through slowly, and then accelerate again. Speaks volumes frankly. “I’m ok externalizing risk. I’m not ok internalizing it”
Laughing about the Land Rover... momentarily the part of my brain fired that says, "Hurry Up!" and quickly it was overpowered by "...this is a feature, not a bug." Awesome.
It’s on the end of the Albert Bridge which is a fragile 19th century structure. The barriers are intended to prevent larger vehicles using the bridge. They have to use the adjacent Battersea or Chelsea bridges. One assumes the London Fore Brigade have planned for this.
What goes through the head of someone who is so unsure their car will fit through that they drive it at less than walking pace, but sure enough not to use Battersea or Chelsea bridges instead? Asking for an Albert Bridge user with massive eye roll injury.
I’ve sent another version of this video where everyone drove like this except for someone in a cargo van who clearly knew exactly how big his van was and where it could fit and he just zipped through. It was weirdly hilarious
I see the same effect when I come to pick up a kid in a cargo bike and park it on the pavement. The cars begin to literally crawl past it. Even though when kids walk on exactly the same spot, the cars whizz as if nothing were there.

Because I apparently share your interest in having a preferred traffic calming device.
Thanks for the heads up :)
It's just narrow?
In Italy, we have that level of narrow everywhere.
How do fire engines and delivery trucks/lorries get into that street?
Thanks.
The dream.
