Hence why I work 40hrs a week and can’t even afford a small apartment for just myself. Instead have to live with a roommate (who I do love dearly) but still, I want to be able to afford my own place
He said ,"Fuck you!" to CEO's of large corporations and their billions of dollars. There is plenty to criticise and praise about Musk, without resorting to lies. This just tells people that you cannot be trusted. He was also saying that he could not be bought, with this statement.
I would love if people did this but we won’t. Instead more people seem to be jumping into becoming landlords. The handful of millennials I know who could afford homes aren’t selling their first home they are keeping it and renting it out to afford their bigger home. To many are turning to greed.
This is the problem the entire world has. The unwillingness to admit bad things are bad things even when you only do it 1% compared to someone else. there is no reason to defend landlords of any kind ever. the system is bastardized it’s all bad until it’s not.
Corporations get cheap labour and undermine U.S. wage rates.
Massive immigration enables onshoring low wage factories and lower shipping costs.
Communism has provided millions of underpaid wage slaves.
To be fair, if the profit margin on construction wasn't so thin, maybe construction companies would build more. Doesn't help we're running out of construction sand either. Construction is expensive af
The problem isn't entirely availability of housing. There's tons of housing in the country, and not all of it is occupied. The larger issue is the cost of housing/rent/etc.
Also, building tons of housing out in the suburbs of most big cities doesn't really help and just causes more congestion.
Or make more landlords, which isnt great, but still preferable to have a lot of small landlords than a few private equity firms holding the whole market.
An austrian painter solved the housing problem during the first half of the past century. He also finished with usury in the banking system in Germany. Of course, that caused the whole World to fight against him. We should keep an eye on Austria's art schools...
The people with all the money and property are the enemy? Pfft, yeah right, it's clearly the poor, starving immigrant from a country we probably destabilized which pushed them here.

Actually, the illegals are taking the rentals that “the rich landlords” bought and suppressing wages by increasing the supply of labor in the most vulnerable communities. So targeting both the rich and the illegals would be good. But you’re trained to be managed opposition. A manufactured stalemate.
I’m not arguing against that principle. But that principle doesn’t say that flooding the job market with illegals is good for our country. There are tradeoffs; a stronger currency, if there is a net gain, isn’t the entire picture.
Its supply and demand. The demand far outnumber the supply. The rent houses I have are priced reasonably for the area but i have in fact been able to increase new lease prices by 75% over the past 3 years and still get plenty of applications. But all prices have increased.
No they didn’t .. but the sure helped build them …
Its the hedge funds and corporations that have/are buying up houses and property by the thousands with full price/ cash/ close quick deals and then renting them out at absorbent prices because they all control the market. Not fair but reality.
Both have likely had some impact, but greater than either is the impact of the supply shocks that came from the pandemic. This hurt the supply of both labor and building materials. It's also worth mentioning that deporting immigrants will likely make this labor shortage even worse.
Eggs are expensive in Russia too.
Putin had a landslide election victory, despite this egg tragedy.
Why can't Humpty Dumpty Kamala be as great as Putin?
I think it’s greed (desire to obtain as much cash as possible) on both, as naturally they charge as much as they can, sometimes they must charge less if more housing is made or if other options for consumers look better then them.
Seeing this get posted a lot. Is it just because of what is on the image or is there a reaction to it being posted? I'm just confused more than anything.
Rich Landlords = Blackrock + Vanguard. Both are wholesale-purchasing middle class residential properties at an alarming rate(we mandated our HOA board introduce covenant language to hinder corporate ownership in our neighborhood, in 2022).
Greedy Politicians = Establishment(both D and R).
In 2022, there were approximately 15.1 million vacant homes in the United States, which is about 10.5% of the country's housing inventory. This is a decline of more than 20% from the peak of nearly 19 million vacant homes after the 2008 housing crisis.
It's called a housing shortage, has been developing for decades. It's called supply and demand capitalism. Not really that hard of a concept to grasp. Plus, nobody is going to build affordable housing on expensive land. https://www.bankrate.com/real-estate/low-inventory-housing-shortage/
oh my god y'all who keep reposting this are so media illiterate, Vault Boy is not a humanitarian symbol, did you folks even play the video games??? He doesn't care about affordable housing, he cares about people paying for a spot in the apocalypse bunkers to then do mad science on them!
The answer is much more depressing: it's NIMBYs taking away any chance at housing because they're too selfish about property value. Fix zoning laws, and you fix housing.

I don't have that big of problem with refugees, as it wasn't their choice to leave.
The people I do have a problem with are rich entitled Californians that jack my state's shit.
Oh wait, no, there must surely be something else going on here
What makes San Antonio special is that they just build! Supply v. Demand is like fourth grade material folks
No shit!
By the BlackRock and your government sold you out, but I don't see you mentioning that.

When you ask Democrats individually no one is ready to accept one

price up = greed
price down = altruism
Look at the Realpage lawsuit to think a little deeper about it

What if I could build property near by and attract renters away from them? Why would their holding ever be "worth more" in that case?
What I'm getting at is that the issue is zoning law.
