I think we’ll get a ban on adult trans healthcare under this UK government. I think it’ll probably happen piecemeal with bans on GPs supporting us and bans on private care, followed by a de facto ban on new patients in the NHS.

I regret to say that Wes Streeting’s war against trans people is not confined to young trans people.
Here the NHS England which he has boasted about taking back under direct political control (so far) gently discourages GPs from supporting adult trans patients as well.

Yet we see it meet all the criteria worldwide and rapidly growing in the west
With *what* money?
Without any practical guidance about what to do in such circumstanced, this is just really, really scary.
But, knowing what the possibilities in store look like prepares us to be able to respond.

Diy and mutual aid will be our shields through these next few years. Our elders had to fight, both physically and emotionally to get us where we are today. They fought so we might not have to.
I fight so the youth might not have to.
You're wonderful<3
I think those of us who transitioned long ago, or those newer transitioners with a big platform have a duty of care to those who haven't.
It’s a bit infantilizing to think young trans people can’t handle hearing a scary opinion.
The value of communicating these fears of losing healthcare is, for me, knowing
That I’m not alone in my concerns.
It's easy to make these kind of comments from an arm chair.
We shouldn’t have to.
We deserve better treatment

I've been hesitant to go private or DIY due to several comorbidities that have made the NHS endocrine team extra hesitant to progress
Right now I'm in a holding pattern because I've been avoiding thinking about gender ick and focusing on work which can't continue indefinitely.
I desperately hope you're wrong about this but... realistically this is probably exactly what's going to happen and it's crushing me :(
would be ironic if the last haven for trans care in the anglosphere is an LNP-controlled Australia
Pediatric specialist response was "Oh. Um. If it happens again, I can prescribe through the hospital" which is better than it might be, but still a bit shit
My health board now has a policy of blanket refusing shared care agreements for people who were assessed for ADHD privately.
Based entirely on vibes and "concerns" rather than evidence and best practice.
And since trans folk are disproportionately likely to have ADHD, it gets them both ways.
Don't think "of if I had only ... " because that way only madness lies (Trust me, been there done that).
Tabby is right, it's a bit harder now, waiting lists are longer, the world hates us a bit more than they did, but ...
But as you say, dwelling on It doesn't help.
You've got this.
1. The active ingredients in HRT medications are easily available online.
2. The active ingredients are powders that, if stored properly, have an indefinite shelf life.

4. The equipment to do even the most extreme form of homebrewing, sterile vial preparation, can be obtained for a few thousand dollars and can be bought on sites like Amazon.
