My David Lynch trajectory was seeing Eraserhead in high school and finding it pointlessly weird; seeing Blue Velvet in college and finding it interesting but a bit gratuitous; then seeing Mulholland Drive as a professor and thinking it was genius. Took me quite a while to catch up to him.

It was one of those I owned on VHS and therefore watched many more times than any other Lynch.
Eraserhead in HS. I had a hard time enjoying it but I knew it was kinda important.

Fun fact: I use to live in North Bend, Washington (outside Issaquah) which is the town of “Twin Peaks” in the opening credits.
