I deleted my IG account on 1/20. That was easy. For FB I deleted all my pictures and unliked/unfollowed everything. FB is essential for groups, so now I use it as a tool a few times a week when needed. It is no longer “social” for me. No scrolling the feed. No interacting outside of groups.

Trying to get them to move to BlueSky now but -so hard.
People want to keep their contacts.

Older people with family/friends far away. I have been trying to get my oldest friend group to quit for years. I’m one of the youngest. We migrated from Delphi forums, so I knew they could do it. I tried to get them to switch to mastodon- my husband offered to set up a server and everything.
