What are other Process and Paperwork movies? That seems like a genre made for me
Comments
i felt this way about the first season of manhunt too, for another example
Would you include In the Name of the Father in the genre?
I think MARGIN CALL, GOOD NIGHT & GOOD LUCK, ARGO, and MICHAEL CLAYTON all either count or are adjacent enough. Someone else mentioned DARK WATERS, which is excellent but suffers from missing the ensemble effect you get with most of these like SPOTLIGHT.
As for TV…
I think a huge part of ANDOR's popularity is that it explores this side of the Star Wars universe, mainly through Mon Mothma on the Rebel side and Dedra Meero on the imperial side.
MAD MEN of course would be another example.
For me, Process and Paperwork movies / shows require people who have competence at something, and I find competence (+ confidence) is inherently both engaging and calming.
Fail Safe (1964)
very much a Math Paperwork movie
"12" (Director Nikita Mikhalkov), a Russian version of 12 Angry Men (not a translation, but a drama following jury deliberations, so a conceptual adaptation)
The Big Short
Yes, Conclave was really, really great.
12 Angry Men is another fave.
