I haven’t watched any cable news since the election. Not one single minute. If I want to catch up on the day’s news, I watch the nightly news hour on CBS, NBC, ABC or PBS.
Sure, I miss some of the anchors, but it’s been liberating. I highly recommend it.

I also restarted watching my local news - if we expect to take back our democracy, we've got to start at the local level!
A very talented person made this Starter Pack of independent journalists that we can support:

Just use the emoji and not the word. 😊
Oh how wrong they were.
All MSM is right wing propaganda now.
Let them rot.
Blissful.
Quickly turned it off.
It was so enlightening.
Not much left to watch ☹️
(momentarily 🤭)
I have had to prove to myself I can still get information & I have.
Now to re-budget cable news$ to journalist & other platform subscriptions 😊

Those people suck.
I'm trying to get used to the silence, to find some books to listen to, movies to watch.
Which is hard bc of the post-election anhedonia.
I am trying to be inspired by my favorite series Station 11, which is a post-pandemic tale that incongruously features a traveling Shakespearian theater troupe.
Because as they say in the series:
Survival Is Insufficient
Favorite book? Nope. Movie version of favorite book? No.
Baking shows? No. Pottery shows? No.
Nature shows? PBS? Kurosawa films? No, no, no.
Cats? Yes. 🧡
It got so uncomfortable as normalcy in Poland descended into chaos, I had to stop. 😔

Which means nothing now, because the GOP are pod people.
But I haven’t watched a single minute of cable news since the morning after the election either and I think it’s been better for my mental health & anxiety
