It took Congressional action, 20 years and $3.5 billion in updated infrastructure for life to return to the Cuyahoga. Today, more than 60 fish species thrive. Its water is cleaner than it's been for 150 years.

Welcome to the world before the EPA. They achieved a lot, would have done more, but as soon as they got started, corporate interests began to disempower them because they interfered with unfettered profiteering and exploitation of the land and resources.
