Buy the huge ass roll of Saran Wrap. Honestly I have had mine for 9 years? It’s the best investment I have made. It sits in the pantry reliable stoic and never disappoints always THERE when I need it . It never gets wrapped around itself - seriously.
Love it- 3,000 sq feet of Saran Wrap with NO waste. Every time I am at my daughters I go to her small Saran Wrap and undoubtedly it is messed up I rip it and I waste some. What a gimmick!!!!
If you don’t have time to cook, their premade food is really good. I bought a chicken pot pie for the football games last weekend. Everyone loved it! Street tacos, chicken Alfredo, Mac and cheese, supreme pizzas, etc all yummy. Bakery is excellent. In the summer, the key lime pie is fantastic. Fyi.
I bought $600 in canned & frozen fruits, vegetables, proteins, grains, coffee and shelf healthy options for when grocery aisles go bare, prices spike, eggs, milk, chicken and cheese are unavailable and there will be a run on oat & almond milk.
COSTCO CEO to co-founder regarding the store’s need to raise the price of the hot dog & soda:
“Jim, we can’t sell this hot dog for a buck fifty. We are losing our rear ends.’ And he said, ‘If you raise the effing hot dog, I will kill you. Figure it out.’”
Don’t forget Trader Joe’s. Went there today and I couldn’t believe how much I forgot 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ about their quality and prices.
Eggs were $5/ dozen, vs $8.99-11 at Safeway. 🥳
I mean, it's winter? Thick is in? Um.. it's cheesecake. If that's how ya go... it's not the worst way lol I mean, It'll be on my list of preferences haha!
I am off all social media now except this and Substack. A little NPR. Can you tell me about Target? I no longer have Amazon. Actually happier too.Buying less and shopping directly from vendors and buying local.
Since this post has been doing numbers, linking to @pronounced-ing.bsky.social's helpful post about letting Costco know that you want them to keep this focus, as a customer (and maybe let them know you support the workers too!) https://bsky.app/profile/pronounced-ing.bsky.social/post/3lgvfh4hopk2c
I really need it! Trying to think of a place to hide it until I can convince my husband. When I say Costco, he screams because that one thing turns into $600.00 worth of cool stuff that we don't really need.
Oh that's on deck. Though that was already on deck since I decided we need to eat more seasonal local produce which will require freezing. Just getting porch outlet added.
I suggest you get their credit card. No fee.
The executive membership is good. If you don't make back at least the standard membership fee in rewards, they refund you the difference so their is no risk to get the executive membership.
Yeah I’m going to have to do that too. I’m not sure how capacious Costco’s delivery services are—I’ve been leaning really heavily on Target’s because my husband is vulnerable to COVID and we’re out here still taking that seriously.
One of those “no ethical consumption under capitalism” dilemmas, really. Figuring out how to function as vulnerable people in an ableist society while also trying to make responsible choices as often as possible is fucking hard.
Costco is fantastic. We buy over 80% of our groceries and consumables from them. Weekly Costco run - fill the gas tank and the fridge. Save $$ and get a $1.50 hotdog.

Heading to CostCo first thing to get one.
