You can do that more and more often, if you practice. I started with gulls on the waterfront just gliding into the wind, then progressed to mallards omg they're bullet fast. But after a bit all the others seem to get easier to capture.

In the old days that would be a trip to the chemist with the equivalent of 320 (24ex)rolls of film. There might’ve been an orange or green hue through the shots, depending on the processing and you’d have to wait up to two weeks for the results.
Digital cameras📷 have transformed colour and time. 😊

They fill the same niche as Great Blue Heron in North America and Grey Heron in Europe/Asia but seem to do it with just a touch more style. 💙

True, but I love the look and feel of film cameras, especially since the rise of Ai. It reinforces the artist's role in photography. Though you are right, being able to go ham 2,000m up a mountain to get the butterfly in frame which WON'T SIT STILL is super helpful.
