Well, in my experience the bully finds out if you have lunch money (usually by asking some others who have it in for you anyway for some other reason..) and then takes it.
Then, if questioned by the teacher, insists he was leant the money and will be paying it back.
True.
Interestingly, Musk has worked through all the meanings of "bully", in the correct historical order:
1. He was loved and admired
2. He was a good fellow, respected.
3. He was a blustering daredevil.
4. He is an overbearing harasser of the weak and vulnerable.
You mean @schumer.senate.gov βwe gotta give the Nazis what they want so they can control the Nazis.β? The @schumer.senate.gov who says βwe need to pick and choose who has civil rights worth protect and itβs not the dolls or gents.β The @schumer.senate.gov that is nazialyte kids? That Chuck?

Like that story almost nobody remembers, about the lady who took a snake into her home, and was surprised it bit her. "You knew I was a snake when you picked me up." π
It would be great if they even treated this as a bully taking lunch money.
I've said it elsewhere, but it feels like these people believe they all agreed to play Calvinball, with only the winner getting lunch, and darn it, eventually Calvin has to stop winning, right? They played by all the rules!
Some of these folks werenβt beaten up on the playground. Too many were the ones beating. Most Dems in Congress right now were all the kids that watched and did nothing. You could help guys.
I remember those people. Some laughing. Many sympathetic. But they just watched and let it happen and then kinda ignored me because I was just beat up. Couldnβt be seen with the wimp. Even if there were three of them. Those people need to stand up. Because we are tired of getting beat up for you
I was bullied in HS. Years later I met my bully again and had a talk with her about said bullying. She didn't even remember me! So, goes to show it was never about ME - it was all about how the bullying made HER feel. Powerful. They don't care who you are.
Each one hopes that if he feeds the crocodile enough, the crocodile will eat him last. All of them hope that the storm will pass before their turn comes to be devoured.
It's staggering--as if these people were raised in a vat of goo in a laboratory experiment, rather than in neighborhoods and schools full of actual human beings.
Having attended both kinds of schools and taught at both kinds of schools, that is not my experience at all: if anything, private schools nurture bullies.
Oh, the usual. As a family concern that trafficks medieval weapons to anthropomorphic forest creatures, their misery is our prosperity. It is what it is.
I have a daily polished rock and an especially shiny one I use to break open oysters on special occasions.
I see you haven't met many lawyers. π (I jest, we may not always be likeable but most of us are smarter than this. Not that recent history is on our side.)
I keep giving invited talks at law school events--e.g., January at the Association of American Law Schools in San Francisco--where there are wall to wall lawyers, thousands of them, and my impression is that they're rather...dry and controlled. They make sociologists look like party animals.
They also don't seem to understand that the way to deal with a bully isnβt to just make a brave but doomed stand by yourself (like in the movies). Rather, it's to go get a bunch of friends, come back, and beat the bully to a bloody pulp as a group before taking your money back
I had no friends in school but the bullies eased off after I had a meltdown and physically fought with one of them after they'd poured a drink over me.
Fighting back in a group is better than fighting back alone. But fighting back alone is better than not fighting back at all.

He just came back for more.

1. Death
2. Taxes*
3. Bullies coming back for more if they're not stopped.
* Not if you're rich, obvs.
I apologise if I've come across as attacking you in some way as that was not my intention.
