There aren't a lot of good options for a similar price range if you want to be able to share your files with other people easily. I use Google Drive for delivering files for my business, and the alternatives cost like 5 to 10 x more. Granted, google Drive is like ridiculously cheap

Proton is a good alternative. It has email, calendar, drive, and VPN. It also makes it easy to migrate your data over from other providers like Google :)

You can buy your own "cloud" server at micro center. Honestly, it would be cheaper just to get an external hard drive. As for Microsoft, it's not a great alternative, but you can use programs like Notepad and WordPad. If you know how to program, you can also look into Linux.

When I was in first grade, I shared my Webkinz password with my best friend in exchange for her Neopets password. I still remember hers. It was a secret between the best of friends, a gesture of profound trust.

Kinda hard to imagine that a first grader would ever do that with a password today.

It takes time, but it's doable. Start by making sure you have one email that's not Gmail; the Firefox browser lets You choose your search engine.
