Was this ever a hit?
It deserves to be a monster cult hit.
Let us make it so!

Every single person in that video is so stylish...
Thank you for sharing.
Still as much of a bop as I remember it being.
I'm still waking up; y'all know what I'm trying to say.

Oh right, we got Rammstein.
That's like the last German act I know.
That and maybe Einsturzende Neubauten (sp?), and only because Blixa played with Nick Cave.
More recent German bands, don't know any.
Michael Schenker was a thing for a while.
Virtually nobody knew of bands like Can and Neu.
It blows my mind that Neu was doing proto-electropop in 1972.
Learned about it around the same time as Rasputin.
Definitely the better song of the two.
I'd happily throw this in a party mix right alongside Rasputin and watch old people fall over doing the Cossack.
Doesn't have campy, energetic verb of Boney M.
Follow-up, this was the original video with the original song (Not the funk overload one): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wga5A6R9BJg
