VLC is one of my favorite apps: great software, free, robust, etc - and it keeps things playful, to this day I have no idea at what window size, monitor(s), or aspect ratio it will open a movie at.

It used to do that to me until I unticked the box to resize the interface to the video size. Now it plays videos without messing with my window size. If I want the video to be bigger, I just maximize the window.

I'm a luddite, and I love VLC.
Went a bit funny with an update having to be run manually for reasons, but fine after.
