Every time I open Notion it gets a little worse. Every couple weeks it has one more pop-up about one more feature addition that has nothing to do with making the core product any better.

It started getting increasingly slow for me after they added their AI assistant, which I never used. I switched away a while ago, couldn't deal with it anymore. I only used it for text, there was no real reason for the slowness.
i was flirting with using notion, but i think maybe i dodged a bullet.... doesn't seem like these types of products are on a pathway to meaningful improvement in this climate.
We’re probably beyond peak of these productivity apps. I think there will be case studies on how all of these apps only created more work and made teams less productive.
Google has to report usage statistics to investors and if users aren't interested in the chat bot they'll put the chat bot in everything to give the illusion that people are using it and excited about it.
The founder of Notion is such a tool. I interviewed with him when the team was ~10 and he literally left two minutes after I got there because I was “too junior” (it was at a coffee shop he’d invited me to after “seeing my resume floating around”)
But that’s just a fun fact. Yes Notion is getting worse and their core product has been replicated better elsewhere/in more convenient places. I started using Slack’s Notion clone with one of my clients and it was surprisingly nice. For myself, Obsidian is my favorite by far.
this video almost turned me into a Vim sicko but it did get me consider some other ways I can keep my shit organized without being beholden to some company making a good product awful. https://youtu.be/XRpHIa-2XCE?si=tlyjqBhLp0QVbaZU

I mostly like it for using markdown but it's pretty good overall
Trash. I just want better formatting in a non-database table and instead keep seeing this garbage.
