I think conference organizers should be less optimistic that American citizens will be able to travel outside the country without hassle for long. Does this administration seem big on rights?

I was just thinking about traveling to Madrid for EPSA this summer and wondering if I should prepare my electronic devices so they contain no social media apps/cookies.
I am a US citizen supposed to go to a conference outside the US later this year and I do not think I will comfortable doing so. Haven't made travel plans yet bc I don't see how I can feel safe doing this.
i’m very concerned that they’re going to close the borders entirely, but even now legal residents and citizens are at risk of detention upon reentering the country. i personally wouldn’t risk that for a conference.
Already a handful of soccer players in the NWSL are currently not able to travel due to the “lack of clarity on the travel bans”.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is to be hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Will the US guarantee safe passage (entry & exit) as people travel across 3 countries?
It's also not safe for non-Americans to fly into the United States, especially if they are critical of the administration.
Maybe I'm biased being immunocompromised, but there are hybrid and virtual conference options organizers could explore to reduce all kinds of barriers.
