All it is is deferred resignation. You don't even really get time off, if you read the email they retain the right to assign work to "help with the transition" until 9/30. If you agree to it, all you are agreeing to is that you will be out by 9/30, no extensions or take backs.
VA, and they haven't been. I will say the pressure is working as I've sent them something each day. @kaine.senate.gov specifically went from gentle urging to fighting for us in all of three hours one day.
Help to modernize Dems’ comms. We’re not reaching people. We’re not even trying to align comms among Dems and with civil society orgs (women’s, enviro, civil rights etc) to cut through their noise machine, undermine the distracting agitprop and to frame issues. Dems are digitally illiterate.
Everything I've seen says there's a statutory limit for both buyouts & garden leave, so call it a scam.
Even if it's somehow enforceable, still call it a scam, bc then it's a scam on the public: paying USG employees months of salary to not work. How is that "efficiency"? It's not!

In the private sector, it would be "you quit so we don't have to pay severance or qualify for unemployment benefits." Certainly that last bit would apply here.
Get a former Federal Human Resources Officer to explain how the government conducts reduction in force. Refer to plans used for base closures plans and agency abolishment consolidations done (1990-2011). I was there. This is a shakedown by DOGE and likely violates the CFR and U.S.C.
I really hope your office and others bring attention to the personal fight between Musk and the FAA—he’s been attacking agencies for ages, simply because NTSB and all safety folks keep pointing out his SpaceX explosions and Tesla Crashes

They are not hiring them away, and are not risking their money.
I don’t think we have a word for this.
"Fork in the Road" matches language Musk used when he destroyed Twitter

Scam either way.
Reading closely, all it does is relieve you of the need to physically go into the office. All other work remains.
Also seeing concerns over what it would do to pensions.
DO NOT FALL FOR IT.

Musk forces that kind of DEI hire out.
FAA head Michael Whitaker was "harassing" SpaceX with fines.
Musk sabotaged the FAA.
Musk should be tried for sabotaging civil aviation infrastructure.
