I wouldn’t be fully against reindustrializtion but the problem is both liberals and conservatives have spent decades decimating unions and worker protections so instead of going back to being able to afford a house and family as a construction worker you’re going to live on poverty

Didn’t say that’s why jobs were shipped abroad. But unions have lost strength in that time so bringing those jobs back means you’re doing it without any infrastructure to protect workers which means we’ll be in factories with shit wages and less protections than ever

Can't imagine what you think the reason for offshoring was then. The big attraction of offshoring in the first place was that it was cheaper and therefore more profitable to make things in places like China or Indonesia, not least because the labor there was much cheaper.
