Awww! RH5.1 was the first store-bought Linux distro I tried. We'd moved from the city to the mountains & there were days when 14.4 was the best speed we could get. There were magazine CD's & Walnut Creek but I wanted to try a "boxed" Linux. Good Ol' CompUSA & the disappearing rebate trick.
I think I still have the CD for this somewhere. That was the good old days, before systemd, before wayland, before flatpak & snap, before the dark times, before the empire.
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs
