It will represent an effort to heal a sense of betrayal I and many others felt by those who taught us values over the decades. We watched them sell those values for pieces of silver. (Perhaps the most painful part was watching them rationalize it to themselves)
I’m done with these so-called hate-filled religious folks and the preaching of tenets inimical to Jesus’ teachings. We need to fortify the wall separating church and State.
"sane" - hahaha. First lie of the book is directly on the cover. You have an unhealthy obsession with Donald Trump. Posting non stop about him. You need mental help, Fugelsang. Certainly not "sane".
This is a desperately needed book. In case you have not hear this Episcopalian Priest, here's a sample. Sweet short 2–3-minute messages: https://youtu.be/JKc1GYxGi0Q
I'll definitely be grabbing a copy. I walked away from organized religion nearly 30 years ago because what I read in the Bible was absent in those buildings.
No!
Faith and religion will always engender hatred, exclusivity, and segregation.
There is no salvation for any mind that falls for convoluted nonsense parading as divine knowledge that no man could ever possibly know!
Hurry up and write FASTER...pick the graphics faster...do WHATEVER necessary FASTER....August is TOOOOO too far away Sir!!!!! Get that fanny in gear, grease whatever wheels you must....PLEASE!!!!!
Taking the Bible back from fundamentalists, fascists, and frauds?
Hate to break it to you, but the Bible was created by fundamentalists, fascists, and frauds and designed to be used to spread fundamentalism, fascism, and fraud.
You're trying to change the Bible to something its never been before
If you read the bible with a literalist 21st century, western viewpoint, you may come to this conclusion. But read it with an understanding of the culture of the time and it is transformative and reflects a God who is love.
Not at all. All I’m saying, perhaps clumsily, is that to understand the ancient text we need to read it with an understanding of the culture of the time and in the context of the whole bible. What is an obvious meaning to us, may have had a different connotation to contemporaneous readers
Much Old Testament “call” to mass killing is the Bronze Age equivalent of trash talking between MMA fighters. Interpret the OT via the lens of Christ who called us to love our neighbour ( as well as God and ourselves).
Can’t wait to get your book this summer, it’s going to be awesome!!! I love it when you hit back against the fake “Christians”, it goes to show you that these fake “Christians”seriously, the fake “Christians” would rather wave the Bible like a damn prop!!! You can’t take them seriously!!!
Why don’t you please cite one specific time I’ve said anything like that so all the nice folks reading this thread will know that you’re not a dishonest hater, my friend. Blaming atheists? They’re some of the finest Christians I know.
Now my off days (Monday and Tuesday) are going to be spent creating a supercut of all the times you're on your podcast and @muellershewrote.bsky.social blaming the "godless" for all the harm done by christian leaders.
There are no fake Christians. And I'm guessing if you started calling all the right wing Christians 'old testament Jewish motherfuckers' the excuse of "I just use that against fake Christians, not jews" wouldn't cut it
Even here you can't say they are fine people they must be fine Christians secretly pretending to be atheists. Because in your mind no good person can be an atheist and no bad person can be a Christian
I don't see you accusing Republicans of secretly being jews, or Muslims, or any other religion. But you'll happily blame atheism for their actions in order to deflect blame from the religion that's actualy do8ng the harm. You are a Christian supremacist
Oh no he accuses Republicans of secretly being Jews all the time, he's been doing it specifically about Trump for two days now. I know what you're getting at and he is a Christian supremacist but he very much does accuse Republicans of being Jews.
You literally blamed atheists for all the actions done by right-wing Christians. When you call them all godless you don't mock them, you just vilify all non religouse Americans. It's no different than Republicans trying to blame the Capitol riot on antifa by saying it wasn't real trump supporters.
You've called everyone from Greg abbot to Donald trump "godless" you throw that term around as a slur. And you use it on conservative Christians. You never accept that Christians can do anything wrong, when they do you call them fake Christians and godless motherfuckers.

A 21st century viewpoint would say no
But sounds like you're saying this is perfectly acceptable medicine to do today if we just understand the culture of the time it was practiced.
Is that your logic?
You fuckin monsters will stand there as they execute all lgbtq people and tell us to look at it through the lense of Christ's love.
The word love has no meaning from people like you
