So many discussions these days about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). No matter your politics, if you put it aside to objectively read this article, most will learn exactly what DEIA was implemented to tackle...what it is, and what it isn't. Thought I would share: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/u...
I really hate to be that person but I'm really enjoying watching all those idiots who voted for Trump (farmers, latinos, Muslims, etc.) because he cared about them ..... are now getting totally screwed over. Guess we've reached the find out phase.
Completely false. Hiring quotas and admissions quotas are real thanks to DEI and the affirmative action that paved the way. AA legalized reverse discrimination and DEI enshrined it culturally to the extent that white people were told to apologize for their “privilege” (translation: for being alive)
I can see where members of the millionaire and billionaire class who inherited wealth might not like to have to consider that they are where they are only by their own good fortune.
Here's the issue I have with this take (not that I don't think it should be spread).
That's how it was intended to be used, but big companies who were more or less forced to take this on were more concerned about the brand image and saving a dollar that the first thing happened anyway.
DEIA was a corporate umbrella to deflect from institutional racisme to personal racisme. ‘We have a DEIA departement so we can’t be racist so you can’t sue us’ reasoning.
Kind of hard to fix or improve anything if the system designed to do so is as easily corruptible and exploitable as what it's meant to replace. A system cannot be like the thing it's trying to replace, if you want it to do anything good.

Groveling won’t help you
You would reach more people, when you add a good description into the Alt-text field.
That is pretty easy, especially, when your image just contain text.
This way, you support visually impaired people and everyone else, who rely on a good filled Alt-text.
#accessibility
Mainly due to all the crap people did/pulled in the name of diversity and inclusion.
The only thing that should matter is are you able to do the job, and not be a huge jackass in general.
