"The president must be able, Roberts insisted, to 'boldly and fearlessly carry out his duties.' Mr. Chief Justice, is this man acting 'boldly' and 'fearlessly' enough for you?" ICYMI @corbinkbarthold.bsky.social on the SCOTUS showdown:

Yes, what happens when a President acts recklessly, dangerously, destructively and without regard to people, the law and the Constitution? The Founding Fathers opposed despotism, not embraced it.Chief Justice Roberts and his cohort gave Trump and future Presidents absolute power & no accountability
He’s a Traitor to USA
Plain and simple
Going back and forth between is he turning toward Democracy or Trump is a waste of time.
He’s sold out the Country and needs to be dealt with accordingly!
Provided the president acts in behalf of all the American people not just his personal favorites. This guy is pulling the rug out of the American safety net. A much more complicated affair. What is the game plan aside from the theatrics and wild cards?
if you listen to the nothing...you hear the something. the dance of saying anything and nothing, protecting your allies maybe and pulling the rug from under the American people
Tell me how The Supreme Court ever thought enabling a psychopath like Trump would help the country or themselves as the court and rule of law are the first things to go in a dictatorship. So much for life appointments.
Because the ones packed onto that Court are equally as horrible as the Devils who appointed them. They are a bunch of Tom Walkers and I want an ominous form on an unbridled stallion to clutch them and whisk them to some edge of another world.
44 pres before trump never felt the need to go to SCOTUS for immunity for acts committed while in office. Not one was taken out and shot after they left office, none of them faced any action after they left office. Nixon walked, Reagan walked but yet trump felt the need and his SCOTUS obliged.
SCOTUS supports Trump. They’re the ones who made him king. Do not doubt for a second that when Roberts wrote that opinion, he wanted to Trump to become a dictator king. Does he have buyer’s remorse? I doubt it because I believe that when he wrote his end of year warning, he was thinking of Biden.
The conservative majority on the Court were handpicked by right wing billionaires to smooth this country's transition from a democracy to a oligarchy. Their job is to look the other way and facilitate the dismantling of the institutions that safeguard this nation from corruption and lawlessness.
Lawyers and judges can discuss and disagree for ages. Why do they not come up with the most simple and obvious solution and go out and ask their constituents. Do you want to give the president unlimited power?
Fuck you Bulwark Republicans. Republicans created this Supreme Court.. Bush, Mitchell, Barr, The Koch bros., Leonard Leo, Reagan, etc. YOU created this monster. Republicunts have ALWAYS been the party ofthe rich over the poor. Fuck you, you gaslighting pieces of shit.
They might do a few trimmings around the edges if he goes a tad too far, but nothing meaningful to rein him in or set any stoplights for future dictators.
Not if he violates the Constitution. Roberts has already betrayed his oath on multiple occasions. The chief justice should not travel more than 24-inches without looking over his shoulder.
99.99% of the time, these white privileged racist cowards are going to allow trump to do whatever the "F" he wants. they do not care about the American people, we are just "mosquitos" to them, and they hate our democracy.
Their m.o. is 1) purge 2) privatize 3) pardon. No matter wtf the "christian" nationalists do, SCOTUS gave him complete immunity for all "presidential acts".
Courts including SCOTUS have no method of enforcement independent of federal government. Trump intends to slowly ignore the courts. Doubt SCOTUS will stand up to be counted, and take real risk of MAGA violence. They will tell themselves they can be smart as will make no difference. How USA was lost.
I wonder if Roberts speculated how far the parasite would go with the immunity card, does he understand how much damage his decision condoned? Does roberts understand the depths desperate people will go to when they have been stripped of everything? (ie lots of veteran Luigi's out there)
The greatest mistake we ever made is giving the president all this power. It’s really bit us in the ass now. These are all traditional Article 1 powers — war, treaties, alliances, trade, tariffs, agency budgets and agendas.

We the people have got to find a way to have an impact.
Kavanaugh can single handedly right the ship. Barret will join him. Roberts can be relied from the pressure and join the
