"Just because the Democratic label is radioactive in some parts of the country doesn’t mean that majorities in those places are necessarily locked into voting for Republicans." Time for a new party? We need to stop dividing against ourselves.
Nobody is going to be perfect enough, ever.
I stuck by the party when they compromised with "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", and I don't regret it, even though I disagreed.
Realistically though it would just compete with Democrats and be a gift to Republicans under a two party system.

They are either out of touch or helping Trumpism.
No respect for anyone flying that banner.

Have to understand how a first past the post system works. We have a two party system because it’s the way winning works under the rules.
No, the one viable national party in America which supports the rule of law, democracy, and the rights of all people, Ukraine and NATO should not cede an inch!
We don’t need a new party until the GOP is irrelevant.
Under the archaic first past the post American system it just divides the vote of those that support it.
Another party that’s totally comfortable with white supremacy but more polite about it is basically just Democrats under another name.
No, we don’t need Reagan republicans back.
They were just Trump with a little sugarcoating and can burn (caramelize?).
Unless you grew up in the 1950’s or earlier, that is.
It might win but it’s not worth winning.
Since we don't operate that way, a third party would just be a gift to the republicans.
I think that's a dubious suggestion.
I've seen no evidence that most Republicans held their nose to vote for Trump.
The only real way to avoid that would to be not have Democrats run in red states and allow the new party to run.
That seems gimmicky.
And yes, I think that would be very healthy for the US. One party in control of everything is insane. A multi party system, based on forming coalitions prevents that.
Just do it, don’t ask people to step aside!
What should be done is a new voting procedure where other parties can rise up!
Republicans are taking a chainsaw to destroy our democracy and you propose Democrats step aside?
How to say you don’t know much about red voters.
