The genesis of the notion that Canada should just be more of America may very well have been Vladimir Putin's 2021 article outlining his case for annexing Ukraine.

And this is precisely why Canadians interpret Trump’s 51st state talk as a threat of war. They are right to be concerned. I wish more Americans were. I don’t see how the USA will recover from Trump. This nation is going to become a nasty place to live, and soon.
Does anyone know the history of Canada? It has nothing to do with the area to the south of it. Y’all did your own thing down there. We did our own thing up here. We have a lot in common but we have NEVER BEEN PART OF THE USA AND NEVER WILL. Your 🍊🤡 needs to learn his history, maybe the War of 1812.
Russian philosopher and political theorist Alexander Dugin believes President Trump is closer ideologically to President Putin than to Washington’s Western allies.
The Russian scholar has often been referred to as "Putin's brain" or "Putin's philosopher" and is considered by many to be the ideological architect of the Kremlin chief’s invasion of Ukraine.
It’s been on my bingo card as well since 2016. I have overestimated the intelligence of the American electorate not once but twice. I thought, oh well, America is dead to me but then the 🍊🤡pulled Canada into his demented reality show so the war is on. Elbows up!
Russia needs US! It has done for YEARS! SHE HAS NO FOOD!! MOTHER RUSSIA NEEDS HELP! PUTIN KNOWS THAT! FOOD!! BOMBS ARE USELESS! HE NEEDS TO FEED A NATION!!N A HUGE NATION!! WE WILL HELP YOU!! JUST STOP BEING A BASTARD!! We do have the capacity..xxx
You really ought to discuss the book Foundations of Geopolitics and its foreshadowing of US and EU instability, Brexit, and Russian imperialism. As with Project 2025, the plan has been in plain sight all along, and future plans can likely be predicted from it.
Russia has had an intentional hand in the spread of disinformation and destabilization across much of the west for decades. We should be utterly infuriated.
Part 2: As a Canadian, I always felt closer to European values than those of US citizens (gun control, separation of state and religion, women's rights, minority rights, free health care, education, the role of government, hate speech, etc.). We are worlds apart and wish we had an ocean between us.
As a Canadian I can tell you that we are much closer to Europeans in values than US citizens. Canadians do not like DJT, do not identify to US values and frankly do not appreciate these discussions. Vivement l’annexion du Canada à l’Union Européenne!
I only have this to say, it will in no way be easy to take our country from us. You look at the number of service members active and non active, and consider us insignificant, until the remaining 30+million stand up and join the fight. Just like we did in ww1 & 2.

Plus, he wants to be remembered as a big man, instead of the small, petty man he actually is.
