What we're currently living through is a patriarchal panic reaction.
Our society came a little too close to acknowledging trans people as not merely quirky zoo exhibits to gawk at on the margins of society. Too close to acknowledging our humanity.
The response to this has been sheer terror.

I cannot emphasize how good it is to see others trying to cultivate the same attitude during America's Great Fanatical Tantrum
Some thing to feel compassion for. To help with
It is simply discomfort, and the unease that thier world view is shaken and then umbrage that such a thing should be so, then anger at the violation.
We've been mostly ignored until recently but have crossed some critical threshold. What is happening now is our punishment for being too visible in defying patriarchy.
We gotta find our physical spaces and hold them with out lives.
They will succeed in doing a lot of damage, but they can't reverse time.
The curtain's been ripped away. The magic trick has no mystery.
So we have, frankly, edicts of the most absurd sort. Next to the inhumane torture and state-mandated carceral trafficking, we have nonsensical attempts at absolutle epistemicide. Kill gender ideology! Remove pronouns! Women are assigned at zygote!
I have hope because we're still genderfreaks to many, sure.
However.
We're *human* to more people than ever, too.
What I want to tell you is that they have ripped out our tongues, over and over and over, for as long as we've existed.
We still found the words.
They starve us and we feed each other.
They beat us and we dress each others' wounds.
They kill us, but still we rise from graves.
We will not be eliminated.
We will never be gone.
You will not have your perfect, colorless world, devoid of our joy and radicalism.
Your sane world will not survive us.
