The day that I realized thinking self-depeicatingly about myself was hurting me, my mental health really turned around. Now on the occasion that I do think bad stuff I remind myself that isn't true and I shouldn't think it.

if you smile, wether you are happy or not, it releases endorphins, dopamine, and seratonin, so when i was a kid struggling with depression and anxiety all on my own, i learned this and used it to make myself feel better. this was long before any diagnoses i was ‘just’ an asthmatic gifted kid.
my favorite is the one that started "I'm going to... become a fish" and eventually morphed into "this will effect the local trout populations" and that's become part of my vocabulary
