With Gregg Popovich's retirement, the game has lost what many of his peers consider one of — if not the — greatest coach in NBA history.
He found success with a fiery and direct approach, but not without unwavering compassion and care.
"Pop is a generational leader."

Even as a rival (I’m a 40+yr Laker fan), I respected Pop so much as a coach and as a person.
He never talked a lot about wining or losing with press, but he always let his mind known about everything else.
He was who he was at all times.
with sportsmanship, focus, & putting team over ego.
That's the power of values.
Glad when David Robinson & Tim Duncan got to win 2 titles together with him. My dad was Navy so I was a DR fan.
Even got the DR pumps.
Pricey & fell apart. 🤷♀️
Jackson has won 5+ world championships with two different franchises
No other coach in the history of the game has come close !!!
Provide facts to back up your words
Then turned around and won five with the Lakers
What other NBA coach has done this or come close to doing this with two different teams?

But what if I told you that you could now get all of your animal fact content in one place?????🤨🧐😏☹️😣🫢😵💫😵💀🪦
I was a huge Spurs fan in the 1990s, and Popovich was a living legend even then. His lifetime of contributions to the game are matched only by the few.
Phil Jackson won 11 NBA championships with 2 different franchises. I think his greatest accomplishment was molding Dennis Rodman, Pippen and MJ into the greatest team ever.
wins: 1155
losses: 485
win %: .704

A great American.
A real good human being.
Hope he remains active and in the public eye in the next chapter in his life.
Everyone who actually KNOWS Pop adores him.... and 100% of those people say he's the exact OPPOSITE of miserable.
He had a way of teaching his team to carry on, on court and off, as a mature and respectful person and not have a chip on their shoulder, in addition to knowing how to create championship teams💪👏
I miss him already
