My son has scarlet fever (strep) so if your kid has something that looks like measles or chicken pox I guess consider that instead? Medieval ass diagnosis

This happened to my daughter about 6 years ago. Never once complained of a sore throat or anything just came home from school with a fever looking like she had chicken pox! Antibiotics really worked quickly.
Strep can present so weird! My daughter had it once and the only thing she told me was that her knees hurt?! And if you don't know what it is, you can't treat it and boom, scarlet fever.
Both my kids have had it and it is unreal! Literally had no idea it was just untreated strep and neither of them had throat symptoms that were visible/clear. RIP Beth March.
Ok yeah so worst part of kids being sick is now every time I panic “are they gonna die bc others didn’t do vaccines” and it’s very stressful taking the already worst thing of kids being sick to levels of anxiety making me wonder if my children might die as if we were in medieval times
My son had scarlet fever last year and I didn't realize it was still a thing and that it resulted from strep. And that common strep infections were a major cause of death pre- antibiotics. I really hate that people don't understand how much child death there was pre-modern medicine/vaccines.
