They really put a lot of effort into the Definitive Edition from what we've seen so far with all the QoL features and all the new content. Monolithsoft once again absolutely delivers with this game

Seeing they learned from the original's UI mistakes is a good sign.

Hopefully this also means they've addressed some of the original game's other issues. Fingers crossed there's a bonus EXP system to let party members you're not using catch up...

i think one important thing you might have missed is the battle UI bar is more readable outside of just text! those 3 bars? that's your morale bar. comparison between new and old. you can actually see it now!

Lotta games from around 2015 had tiny text and UI, I think they were banking on huge TVs rather than stuff like the Switch and the Steam Deck. Arkham Knight is a great game that had that issue on everything except Switch.

I never completed the game. After I got Skels was when I finally gave up. Couldn't read a damn thing no matter what I did. Broke my heart to do it.

Fun fact I never beat XCX despite getting it day one because of the tiny ass font 😀 I've tried getting back into it multiple times and always fall off of it because of the font. Very excited about this change!

In my opinion, the city themes’ only problem is that the loops are too short - and I hardly see them correct that flaw.
However that night theme is the only video game theme I ever heard to include a guitar harmonics solo 😂

Thinking back, Xenoblade X was the beginning of what had almost been the end of console gaming for me. Got migraines every time I played it, despite enjoying it. Had the Switch not come along and united handheld and console, I'd probably given up the hobby entirely by now.

tbh it would‘ve been very embarrassing if they hadn’t overhauled the UI, considering that on the Gamepad the text was literally so small that even with a magnifying glass it was intelligible due to the resolution!

Me who was still playing the Wii U on composite on a CRT deep into 2016

And I had a big CRT, but since all of the games were 16/9 letterboxed on there the resolution was more like 360i than anything... Which was an experience in and of itself for 8 player Smash Wii U and stuff
