SCOTUS sure is gonna be busy contemplating which venues they wish to use to continue to take away rights and destroy our democracy. Their zone is about to be flooded too.
“Blanket pardons for all January 6 defendants or anything close would be beyond frustrating and disappointing, but that’s not my call,” Nichols said, according to a transcript. “And the possibility of some pardons, at least, is a very real thing.”
🤦🏻♂️Know this is pessimistic, but the damage is already...done. How long will it take to move thru the court system, months---years? And, by then, what will remain of USAID to save?
Turns out Nichols (again, a former Clarence Thomas clerk) was NOT amenable to Marco Rubio leaving USAID employees in Syria w/o access to urgent security warnings.
We do, but Trump destroyed the American soybean industry and killed hundreds of thousands of people first term. So genuinely no idea what it would take for people to meaningfully learn any kind of long term lesson
I'm always happy to see at least some sign of humanity & respect. Just saying "they served their country" is huge at this point & I wish bigger media could unrumple themselves enough to observe things like that.
