I've handled govt fraud cases for >25 years (including 8 at DOJ). With few exceptions, IGs are highly professional and were working hard to find fraud long before Musk came up with DOJE. Plus, fraudsters are pretty good at hiding what they're doing. Data mining has its place, but it's not a panacea.
