The air traffic system was working ok before the heavily conflicted Musk seized control.

If anything, FAA staff was on the short-handed side, so dropping 400 people is not helping.

Try asking Musk, "What did those people do? How will that work be done now that you've mucked it up?"

These are to work on an air traffic system. Instead of going through a competitive procurement process, the gov’t just directly hired Space X engineers … who it appears are not being required to give up their conflicting other jobs like other federal employees would.

A long time ago I worked a govt contract to update the systems just for the 20 enroute centers.
Let me just say that after experiencing what that job entailed as to not harm safety and air traffic schedules, I won't be flying anytime soon with four spacex kids mucking around inside said system

Along time ago we developed software for the FAA and we were so good at it that CSC and Volpe pressured FAA personnel to fire us. It’s the only conference call I ever recorded. I decided to run for Congress based on that call. Sadly for America I lost. :)
