I didn’t know Garland was the one that wrote that SCOTUS opinion? The Colorado one, that pretty much said that an insurrectionist can’t be elected dog catcher anywhere in the United States, but that that an insurrectionist could be elected President.
Exactly. And NOBODY protested when that happened. I made memes that people pretty much ignored. That was back on Twitter, though. To be expected, in retrospect.
The time to assess blame is after the fascists have been defeated decisively and historians are thoroughly examining the mistakes that led to the current regime.
Until then IDGAF.
I would also say the obviously corrupt Judges including Eileen Canon, that tool Walt Nauta, and all the dirtbag senators who kept him from being impeached for accessory to EVIL before even mentioning the mere incompetence of DA Fani Willis & her beau or Garland
A lot of people dropped the ball. Hell, if the FBI had done a thorough vetting of Trump, he never would have been able to run for anything because of his debt to Vlad and his buddies.
There were a lot of steps involved for us to get to this point, but Garland being a spineless idiot was probably the last safeguard that failed that could have prevented it.
Also Biden. He had every chance to replace Garland at midterms, when it was plainly obvious he was not up to the task. The buck stops at the top.
The frittered away 4 years of opportunity to rid ourselves of the orange menace.
Add McConnell while we're at it. He enabled at every step.
Like many others I was unhappy about Garland's failure to deal with trump. I have to give more blame to Biden. The Attorney General serves "At the pleasure" of the POTUS . The buck stops there.
Talk about fat cats. He couldn't prosecute a traitor even with stacks of evidence against him. Imagine. Just a waste of space, really, when the judiciary intentionally bypasses its constitutional powers.
Just imagine if the roles were reversed i.e., Biden and his enablers were on the other side of the law, republicans would have definitely put all in prison.
Yes, you are correct, but the same can be said for Mitch McConnell. He had 2 chances to stop Trump and failed both times. Garland was a horrible Attorney General.
If my memory serves me correctly, here is a recap of Merrick Garland's political choices - because make no mistake, this man's inaction at applying the law evenly, without fear or favor, was itself, a political decision!
Think of where we could be if Merrick Garland actually did his job.
Even with all of Leo‘s money, it’s gonna be hard to spend when they still stick them in a concentration camp. Merrick was one of the biggest mistakes this country has ever made.
If McConnell had done his job, Garland would be on the Supreme Court instead of Gorsuch, Trump would have been removed from office and permanently barred from holding office, and Biden would have hired someone qualified to be Attorney General instead of doing a solid for a guy who got screwed.
I really don't understand why we use derogatory words for women to describe cowardice, while women tend to show more courage than men the majority of the time.
No
I’d like to remind you that if the MAGA Senators had done their duty to uphold the constitution (and their jobs) and voted to convict on 2 impeachments, we wouldn’t be here!
HE HAD HELP IN HIS INCOMPETENCE… DEMOCRATS BETTER LEARN .. hey charlie brown come kick the football.. you got played and we are all gonna pay for a long time to come…🤦🏼♀️
He was nominated for SCOTUS because he was considered someone who could get through the confirmation process (conservative enough...). He should never have been considered for the AG role for the same reasons.
Yes and no. He and Jack Smith were ready to go this time last year and then the SCOTUS rushed in to give Trump presidential immunity. Eileen Cannon played full court defense the entire time. Even so, if Trump had lost last November, we would be watching his trials on TV right now.
Garland needed to go after the head of the snake (and his primary co-conspirators) sooner than he did. He didn't bring in Smith until 2023, and by then, Trump was just able to run out the clock, with an assist from a corrupt Supreme Court. Massive unforced error. Oh, what should have been.
Although, even if Garland woke up from his nap, he would still have to appear before the Supreme Court in matters of exceptional gravity or importance…
We Are Where We Are… because Garland was chosen and kept… and because the majority Corrupt Supreme Court wasn’t expanded.
Yes. I was replying to him saying Merrick Garland was the worst AG in his lifetime. Unless he is MAGA and believes those three are better than Garland, he was incredibly wrong in his statement

I'd blame Congress for not voting to impeach and remove.
I'm frustrated he moved too slowly and seemed overly cautious but he is not were our anger should be focused.
Or at the very least a man (so far) with morals.
We seem to have given that up for a second-rate carnival barker.

Fuck you Garland.

Blame Glich McConnell for everything bad.
Also, we should talk about Mueller...

We allow an espionage network to combine with our major political party and consolidate power with deception and install a celebrity cult leader.
Like they planned this with the alt-Right.

The bought & paid for #SCOTUS IS 100%responsible.
So did every other official in DC that was supposed to protect the people and the constitution
Fascists, institutionalists, tribal politicians, and power seeking psychos on both sides of the aisle
Predominantly old white men

Stop blaming only the GOP, the dems constantly enable them.
They failed.
Surreal.

A rouge Supreme Court allowed an convicted felon to run.
Nazis 101: take control of the courts, then every branch of government.
I'd rather have someone like Garland than soulless sycophants.
